Kids are not the church of tomorrow but of today. We need to train them now in the things of the Lord and not later. They too can have a real relationship with the Lord. They have the same God the Father, Jesus the Son and Holy Spirit that the Word declares to us. I love this verse in Psalm 8:2 which declares this:
“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger”(NKJV)
Nursing infants gurgle choruses about you; toddlers shout the songs that drown out enemy talk, and silence atheist babble.(Message)
You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you. (NLT)
God has chosen children to know Him also. They will silence the enemy and the avenger. They will shout His praises, shut down atheist babble. I just love this…
All the children from 1st to 6th grade will have church together. They will have their church where they will worship the Lord in song, games, giving of tithes and offerings, hearing the word of the Lord through preaching, skits, object lessons, stories, communion, and time to respond to what God is doing in their lives. They will only learn one main point every week and everything will revolve around that one main point. They will also have a memory verse every week. God’s word is the ultimate and we all need to learn and memorize God’s word. God’s word is life-giving.
Psalm 119:11 “Your Word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You.” (NKJV)
Kids ministry should be full of life and energy. God created us all and kids need to have a time where they can actually experience the Lord. We only come alongside parents. We are not to be the sole training for children to know the Lord. We are only a helps ministry for parents. Parents are the greatest influence on children and we also will help in this too.
We will build a team that will impact the children that God entrusts us with every week for His glory. The team will be those who will love the children as Jesus does. Those that help will do so in teaching object lessons, running sound, computer, skits, just being there, to help with discipline, being creative to advance God’s kingdom in all children.
