Christ in the Camp

Chuck Genovese is the founder and director of Christ in the Camp Ministry. Chuck has been a member of the Western New York Living History Society for many years. He had already taught on the Civil War at war at many reenactments when the Lord spoke to him and said: “Why aren’t you teaching about me? I was there, too.” That’s when he founded Christ in the Camp Ministry, an evangelistic outreach using the Civil War as a setting to present the Gospel of Christ to Civil War enthusiasts.

Chuck travels to reenactments with his display of war relics. He also shows replicas of Civil War Gospel tracts and biography tracts of notable Christians in the Civil War (Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain and more). His displays also include testimonies by common soldiers. Chuck sells handmade Civil War dioramas to cover the cost of the ministry. In annually hands out over 900 Gospel tracts at four regional reenactment events.
