Role Overview

The Kids Pastor is responsible for leading Love Joy's Forever Kids ministry with a Christ-centered, engaging, and fun service every Sunday. The Kids Pastor will also inspire and organize a volunteer team, teach biblical truths in clear and dynamic ways, and create an environment where children grow in their relationship with God. We’re seeking someone who is energetic, engaging, creative, and passionate about introducing kids to Jesus.

Key Responsibilities

Sunday Mornings (Primary Responsibility)

• Plan, prepare, and lead the Forever Kids service on Sunday mornings. Forever Kids should be Christ-centered, fun, biblically faithful, and engaging for kids.
• Preach and teach lessons in a way that connects with elementary-aged kids.
• Design and facilitate interactive elements such as games, worship, small group discussions, and creative activities.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for children and families.

Lead Forever Kids Volunteer Teams

• Recruit, train, schedule, and oversee a team of volunteers for Sunday services and special events.
• Build relationships, offer encouragement, and help volunteers to love, serve and lead.
• Teach and implement church policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines.
• Organizational Leadership
• Maintain communication with parents, providing resources and encouragement for spiritual growth at home.
• Manage the Forever Kids budget and resources.
• Collaborate with church staff using Planning Center Online.

Qualifications

• Thriving personal relationship with Jesus
• Agreement with the church’s Statement of Faith and Values
• Experience teaching children in a ministry, educational, or similar setting
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to recruit, train, and inspire volunteers
• Creativity in designing games, activities, and engaging learning experiences
• A bachelor’s degree or higher (or experience equivalent)
